The Declaration of Independence: Word Choice
Overview
In this module, students will examine the draft and final versions of the Declaration of Independence. Using computational thinking, students will understand the theme of the Declaration of Independence and will identify major ideas through word choice. Students will identify patterns by examining the purpose, intent, and central ideas of the Declaration. Finally, students will draft their own declaration for a local cause or concern using impactful word choice and appropriate craft, structure, and editing
