Students will learn about and discuss various methods that businesses collect information, why they need it, and how bad data affects those businesses.
Students will learn how their personal information is collected and used by businesses and the government as well as some helpful tips to control and protect their data.
Students will discuss common cybersecurity attacks, methods of breaching computer security, and how businesses (and individuals) can protect themselves.
Students will describe various security threats to an organization, several types of attacks they must defend against, and a few strategies to limit the risk (including some technologies that can improve security).
In groups, students will take part in a mock credit card (or online) transaction where each group assumes the role of an organization along the online transaction and defend themselves from possible cyber attacks.
