Overview
This unit focuses on how the world of cyber affects our local and national politics. Students will discuss political activism and it various forms, be it social media or even hacking. They will learn how the power of the internet can also be weaponized by various groups or even countries to sway political outcomes.

Students will anonymously submit responses to contentious political issues in groups to explore how quickly and easily extreme ideals and actions arise in anonymity.

Students will critique political candidates’ social media platforms, suggest improvements, and predict the candidate's success for an upcoming election based on their social media numbers.

With a partner, students will either produce a fake news or real story based on a real political figure/candidate/celebrity using material from actual news publications; then as a class vote on which stories are real vs fake.
