Cyber Literacy builds strong cyber foundations by introducing the opportunities, threats, responsibilities, and legal constraints associated with operating in cyberspace. Cyber Literacy will use the cyber:bot platform to lay the foundation for further exploration into STEM and cyber. The cyber:bot is a micro:bit outfitted with a robotics chassis. In this week-long virtual workshop, teachers will learn how to build and program a cyber:bot using Python and learn projects and strategies for teaching with the cyber:bot.
Participants will receive Zoom links for the following workshop times (all session times listed in Central):
- Session 1: Monday, July 20, 10:00 - 11:30 am
- Session 2: Wednesday, July 22, 10:00 - 11:30 am
- Session 3: Friday, July 24, 10:00 - 11:30 am
This workshop will be led by subject matter experts from the National Integrated Cyber Education Research Center (NICERC). Instructors will be available as needed between Zoom meetings to answer questions and troubleshoot.
Participants will receive a shipment of workshop supplies as well as free access to online curriculum materials. Due to grant funding restrictions, this workshop is only open to K-12 educators in the U.S.
