Investigate the forces of flight through the Engineering Design Process
Students learn about gliders used during World War II, components of gliders, and fundamental principles of flight. Students design a build and test their own gliders and generate propaganda displays.
Students design, build, and test a model rocket made from a bottle and launched using pressurized water that must reach a height of at least nine meters and land safely. Students also research rockets through history and the fundamental principles influencing rocket design.
Students work for a marketing firm to raise public interest in kite flying. Students research, design, and build their own kite then create an advertising campaign that includes video from the kite’s perspective.
