Intro to Linux
CYBER.ORG's Intro to Linux is a comprehensive semester-long course geared toward educators teaching high school Linux administration and management.
With over fifty lesson topics and a plethora of activities, Intro to Linux provides the rigor and relevance expected for top quality Linux education. Not only does the course introduce the breadth of Linux concepts and skills, it also prepares students to verify their technical know-how through the CompTIA Linux+ certification.
Students will understand the Linux file system and explore some of the ways it can be managed and controlled through various features of the Linux operating system.
Students will learn to manage the complete Linux account lifecycle, from creating and configuring user accounts to setting permissions and troubleshooting issues.
Students will explore how Linux services and networking operate together to enable secure and reliable communication.
Students will learn how software configuration impacts system behavior and performance.
Students will explore how Linux storage solutions and file systems are managed to maintain data integrity, performance, and scalability.
Students will explore how Git and containers support modern software development and deployment.
Students will examine the Linux boot process and learn how system startup connects to overall performance.
Students will apply best practices and tools to protect Linux systems from unauthorized access, malware, and vulnerabilities.
